Every Thursday a surprisingly diverse cast of characters gathers to race at a defunct airport in Brooklyn. Native New Yorkers and new immigrants, Wall Street traders and construction tradesmen, all test their mettle on Floyd Bennett Field’s crumbling, windswept tarmac. The cycling competition is merciless; the rewards are many.
