In a rural town in Southern Florida four high-school seniors anxiously prepare for life outside Pahokee High School. The teens navigate the sometimes exciting, sometimes heartbreaking rite-of-passage rituals as they make profound decisions about their futures. The pressure of Pahokee’s economic hardships weighs heavily on their shoulders-the community has placed all hopes on them, the next generation. In their stunning feature debut, award-winning filmmakers Ivete Lucas and Patrick Bresnan employ a graceful, poetic approach to their filming, which imbues the many emotional moments in Pahokee with great authenticity.
