1500 MILES

Directed by Chris Duncan

For Nicole Ver Kulien, being an athlete is a part of her identity that medical insurance doesn’t recognize. A 16-year amputee, she enters a 1,500 mile triathlon despite the fact that insurance only covers a prosthetic designed for walking. Follow Nicole as she struggles to finish the race with her inferior prosthetic while internally battling with herself on whether continuing her athletic pursuits is worth the pain and expense.
